Osong Ligaw flies Jetstar

(and regretted it).

It's quite rare that I blog about an airline, I guess this is a first. But due to the horrendous experience my human had with Jetstar Asia, I think everyone needs to be informed. Plus, my human has not moved on from such a terrible, terrible experience.

My human's sister-in-law who lives in Singapore booked our flight last March 2013. Since she used her credit card, she sent my human a clear copy of the card and scanned images of her IDs - things that usually work with most of the airlines.

However!

The supervisor at NAIA T1 denied to check us in because we did not have the physical, actual credit card. Because seriously, if someone booked for you, why would you bring her card to your trip?

Really, Jetstar? Really?

My human politely asked the supervisor what we could do, and she just kept on saying, "Verify the card or buy new tickets or else we will not let you board." It was very vague! What we wanted to know was how we should do it, where the sister in law had to go, whom she should talk to, but the supervisor kept on saying the same thing.

My human, who was starting to be pissed off,  asked the supervisor if she could talk to the sister in law  on the phone so she (the supervisor) could explain better how the process should go, but she denied the request. Also, she kept on saying that if we failed to verify the card before 20:30 (for our 21:10 flight), she would close the counter and not let us in.

The sister-in-law lives in Hougang, and it was a good 45 minutes from the airport if she rode a cab or an hour if she took the bus or SMRT. My human then told her that the sister in law (still clueless of what to do) was on her way to the airport, and if we be given consideration should she be 5-10 minutes late.

But did the Supervisor even show a drop of pity on us?

No, she refused and told us that she would close the counter by 20:30 regardless if the sister in law was able to verify the card or not.

Several passengers had also been complaining about it since the instruction was very very vague. They were then forced to buy new tickets instead. Many felt that it was a BIG SCAM of Jetstar to steal money from passengers. They also said that if we bought new tickets, they would refund our old ticket. So let's make a few computations:

Old ticket - Php 3,000
New ticket - Php 6,000
Refund of fare only (yes, no tax and fuel surcharge) - Around 2,000

Jetstar will earn Php 7,000!

We really felt that Jetstar had failed us on our first trip with them. No amount of consideration or even assistance or even encouraging words was given to us that day. The kids were crying and panicking, and the supervisor was very hostile towards us.

Honestly, my human really regretted the decision to have booked at Jetstar. It was the worst experience I've ever had as well.

I pray that no one else will experience the same terrible experience we had with Jetstar.

Biggest regret of my human ever?

Hahaha! She will be flying Jetstar again when she returns to Manila and Jetstar again when she comes back to Singapore!

Oh, wait, I WILL BE TRAVELLING WITH HER, TOO!

Rawr, Jetstar! Rawr!
