Osong Ligaw goes to Hello Kitty Town, Malaysia

Since, unfortunately, my human is a big cat(lover), we decided to travel to Malaysia from Singapore to visit...wait for it...Hello Kitty Town.

As the name suggests, it's a town (more of a floor of a large building actually) filled with a lot of, you guessed it right, Hello Kitty! Everywhere you look, you are sure to find traces of that mouth-less cat.
  • From SG to Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Going to Hello Kitty town is a hassle-free travel if you have the money of course. We decided to book our travel thru Sistic Agency who offers a Hello Kitty Town + Little Big House (for little boys to enjoy) + Two-way coach transfer for S$70 or Php2,240. Guests are requested to be at the Singapore Flyer (a dinosaur-ish Ferris Wheel) at least 30 minutes before departure time. There, you will check-in, verify your tickets, and grab a seat at the coach bus. Travel time from the Singapore Flyer to the SG Immigration is around 30 - 45 minutes.
~ First stop is actually the SG immigration where you will have your passports stamped. Double-check if your passport's really stamped so as not to have a problem later on. Seriously, you don't want to go through the hassle of being considered as an illegal alien when you return to SG, just because your passport ain't stamped. Here, you just have to bring your passport when you alight the coach.

~ Next, you will have to alight the couch and this time bring all of your things to enter Malaysia. Again, double check your passports for stamps. Ask also for the Embarkation Card since you will be filling this one up later when you return to Singapore.

~If you're travelling from the Philippines. You will have to write (on the embarkation card) MANILA on the city before Singapore and JOHOR BAHRU on the city after Singapore.

  • Hello Kitty Town. After a couple of minutes from the Malaysian Immigration, you will reach Hello Kitty Town where you will be dropped off. Please be at the meeting area 15 minutes before pick-up time. Other passengers will be then dropped off to Legoland nearby. As you enter HKT, you will be given two sticker bracelets (pink and blue) and a pink activity card.

The Hello Kitty Town according to its website is the very first Sanrio theme park outside Japan. It offers a teacup ride (the only ride at HKT actually), Hello Kitty's house, Black House, where guests are on a quest to save Dear Daniel and Hello Kitty, and an entrance to wishful studio.

Pictures from the Hello Kitty House. Yes, everything Hello Kitty. Cuteness overload!

I'm sorry, Hello Kitty, I guess my human and your boyfriend couldn't control themselves

The Black House is a dungeon-inspired attraction where guests go on a special quest to save Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel. Here, each guest or group of guests receives a lamp so that they can play and look for your symbol. At the exit, if you give the correct 5 letter code, you will receive a certificate showing Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel free. Otherwise, your certificate will show Kitty and Daniel still imprisoned.

This still spells cuteness no matter how I look at it

Inside the Wishful Studio, guests can enjoy different activities like *Nail Polish *Cookie Making *Necklace Making *Costume Party. Young girls and (in my human's case) feeling young will enjoy the activities here.

No amount of creativity for my human. Just plain all chocolate cake

the cutest and most feminine cat ever!

There is also a show where Hello Kitty, Dear Daniel, and My Melody dances in colourful costumes.

At the Hello Kitty Cafe, guests may enjoy Hello Kitty inspired food that are surely way too cute to eat.

Outside, super strategically located are Toys r Us and Hello Kitty gift shop where they sell Sanrio items.

~ There is no Money Changer at Hello Kitty Town so anything you buy, you have to pay using your Visa or Mastercard Credit Card and Malaysian Rupee.
  • You can view my adventures at the Little Big House here
Going back to SG, you will be picked up by the same coach bus earlier. Then you will have to pass by Legoland to pick up guests from there. You will be reminded by your tour guide not to bring any food or chew any gum in Singapore.

~ Also, take note of your coach's plate number since when you fill your disembarkation card, you will have to put this instead of flight number. Write your complete address in Singapore or your hotel's address. Singapore immigration is pretty strict on this one.

So, okay fine, Hello Kitty Town and the Little Big House maybe for young kids. But more adventurous kids and adults, finally, can also enjoy Malaysia at Legoland. Soon.
